Our newest addition to the family

June 15, 2008
Hi!
So much has happened since the last time mom updated the site.
She works way too many hours, and neglects my web page! LOL But she "promised" that she would do better.
I guess this is a start.

Mom is better since her stroke too. But then she found out she has muscular dystrophy...boy oh boy!
We kind of laugh because she likes to do "tricks".
Mom says they are really not "tricks", but we think they are. Sometimes mom lands on the floor and we say "roll over"...but she doesn't think it's funny.
I say if we have to do the dumb old roll over trick, then she should have to as well.
But she doesn't think so, party pooper!
Sadly, my brother, Harley, went to doggie Heaven on February 3, 2008.
Mom still cries, but she is getting better.
Enough with the sad stuff...now for the GOOD stuff!

On April 3, 2008, we got a new addition to our doggie family.
My sister, Lily!
Someone threw her out of a car on a highway. She was really sick and skinny!
Mom found out about her from Auntie Mary...
And the rest is history!
Now she is my very best friend!
Me and "sis" get up every morning and play.
Then we play some more.
And we play some more...
Get the picture???
Lily likes to smile, she really does!
And she is very gentle and very small.
And she even goes to work with mom sometimes.
She likes the senior citizens and they LOVE her.
She isn't afraid of wheelchairs or anything.
Me...I'm not so sure about those wheelchairs.
They can run over your tail!
OUCH!
That happened to me, and I cried!
Mom said "it's okay big-guy" and gave me a treat.
But I'm still not going by those darn old things.
Lily likes to ride in the car...
But I still get a "funny tummy".
We are working on it.
Also, I learned that I don't like the swimming pool.
Not one little bit!
But my sister, Rosie, swims and even has her own raft!
Lily is getting "happier" about the pool.
I just say "NO WAY"!
But I still like to stand on the diving board and play pirate.
I am still the smartest dog ever.
And my favorite commercial is still the "Ain't no bugs on me" one.
No matter where I am in the house, if I hear it, I run to the T.V. and sing along.
Mom said she is going to video tape me doing it and send it in to America's funniest video's so we can win $10,000.00.
Can you imagine all the cool toys she could buy us with $10K??????
I'll keep you posted.
Mom will be putting new pictures up of me and "my peeps" A.K.A. Rosie and Lily, so keep posted!
Woof at you soon!
Love,
Caro

Hi!
WOW, it's really been a long time since my mom updated this!
She was pretty sick for a while...she had a stroke.
I was pretty worried and I never left her side.
But now she is doing good and she is back to work and everything!
Mom and Dad also decided we all needed a bigger house, so they went off and bought one.
And we all moved in the first part of September.
It is really nice and I even have my very own swimming pool in the ground!
I am very brave and I like to sit on the divingboard and look W-A-Y down into the deep end of the pool.
It's 15 feet deep!
Mom tells me all the time "You better be careful buddy,'cuz if you fall in... you better be able to swim".
Mom says I'm like a pirate walking the plank!
Tee-Hee

Another really big thing happened in September...I had my first birthday!
YUP, and now I am one "toe" old!
I had a party too...with my brother and sister and my new dog friends.
We all had Bow-Wow Brownies, Pup-Tarts and a side of Lickety-Split doggie ice cream.
For party favors we all got really neat dog bowls.
I did not like my party hat though!
I thought it was dumb, but mom made me wear it for my pictures.

Mom said she will be good about updating my web site, so be sure to check back soon.

PAST ENTRIES...

HI
Boy, my mom has been one busy chick.
I told her that she is neglecting our "fans"
Well, I'm 9 months old now and 50 lbs!
I am a good boy.
Mom and Dad are always amazed with me.
I have good manners.
I don't jump on any people.
I give "hugger muggers" and kisses.
And my *favorite* commercial is the Advantix commercial where the little puppy sings
There ain't no bugs on me"...
I can be in another room and if it comes on the TV
I run into the room to watch it!
I love it!
I finished my first school.
And mom says "You will be going to another school to learn even more!
But I said "It's summer and all the kids are out playing"
Mom says "too bad buddy"...
So I guess I'm going to school. Drats!
My sister, MIKA, came to visit me for the first time ever!
That's us in the first picture, holding paws.
We are family...I got my sister with me...
ROCK ON!

Hi everyone!
My mom and dad are so proud of me.
They can't believe how smart I am and how much I have learned.
And I'm only 5 months old!
Can you imagine how smart I will be when I am 1 year old??!
Tomorrow is a big day for me.
My mom is taking me to the barn to see horses!
I wonder if they look like cows?
I get to watch Cheries riding lesson,
and go around a lot of things I have never been around.
It's part of my schooling.
This way I won't spook when I am in a new situation.
It's really important if you want to be a therapy dog.
Mom got a "NEW" camera, so she'll be taking LOTS of pictures!
She was being silly when she got the camera.
She got all excited and kissed her camera because it will do even more stuff then she thought it would!
I think she should be excited because she can take more pictures of ME!
WOOF!

February 27, 2006
WOW
It's been a long time since I updated!
That's because my mom has been working too much!
Anyways..wanna hear about a bunch of neat stuff?
Well first, today is my human dad's birthday!
He's the big "5-0" today.
That's 350 in dog years!!!!
lol
Mommy laughed really hard the other day
because the AARP sent dad his official card!
Dad didn't laugh...
Now about ME!
I lost all my puppy teeth!
YUP
AND the tooth fairy even comes for dogs!
But only one time...
She brought me a bully stick...
MY FAVORITE!
Now, for the "crummy" news.
I have to have "THAT" surgery on March 8th.
You know what "THAT" is...
And I am NOT happy!
Not one bit!
I am thinking of making a break for it at the last moment.
Maybe I'll dress up my chihuahua brother, Harley, as me.
And he can have "THAT" surgery again!
Do you think that anyone will notice???
I wonder if they grow back....
Hummmmmm.....

February 9, 2006
Hi!
Well....mom and dad are still totally in awe of me
their little prince!
Yes, I'm still amazing everyone!
My newest "trick" is that I have learned to "leave it"...
this means that when ever mom holds up her hand I have to freeze.
And not touch...No-Matter-What.
And I do!
Even when it is a yummy treat.
Now mind you...
I may "vocalize"
( mom calls it "back-chat")
and some times I even stomp my paws...
But I don't touch it, NO-MATTER-WHAT.
Pretty impressive, eh?
Mom says I am THE SMARTEST little guy.
And I agree.
I am also happy to report that I have learned to bring in the mail too!
BUT...
Mom says I have to earn my keep!
So this is my "job"...
Can you believe it, a JOB?!
I think there are laws against this.
Now I don't mind bringing in the mail as a "trick"...
but when it is labeled as a "job"...
well, it kind of takes all the fun out of it.
Rosie, ( my evil Chihuahua sister)
has told me to call the ASPCA
And as soon as I figure out what "ASPCA" means...
I'm ratting-out my mom!
Jeepers, I just wanna do "tricks"
Not crummy old "jobs"...
That's what mom and dad are for!

What a week!
We had some more sad news about another dog-angel, Penny.
She was a special dog to her dear friend, Rachael Lynn Mayo, who passed away from cancer.
Penny then became a close companion to Kathie, Rachael's mom.
Kathie had to put Penny to sleep...
So we remember Penny, who I am sure ran into the arms of her dear friend, Rachael.

I amazed my mom the other day.
I wanted to show her how talented and patient I can be.
She had a brand new hair clip that was on her end table.
It had a bunch of "sissy" rhinestones all over it!
So I took it and "fixed" it...
I was able to take EVERY rhinestone off for mom.
I spit them all out on the rug.
I think it made the rug look better then a dumb old hair clip.
Mommy screamed with joy!
And I wagged my tail with complete pride.
It was a lot of work....
But the rug sparkled!

Hi!
My mom apologizes for being so late in updating my progress page.
She has had to work A LOT!
And boy oh boy, she has been pretty crabby too!
Well, I have some real sad news...
My cousin dog, ECHO, died on Monday.
Her mom, my Aunt Mary, told us the real sad news.
When my mom heard about it...boy did she ever CRY.
Echo was a really special dog that took care of a lot of people.
She worked really hard in her life, and she is going to be missed really bad.
She got real sick and she was an old girl.
So her mom and dad had to make her pain go away in the kindest way they could.
So they gave her a real special dinner before they took her to the vet.
All Echo's very special favorites ( even key-lime pie)...
then they went to the vet and put her in a soft, cozy bed and her mom laid down next to her.
Her mom and dad gave her treats until she fell asleep.
And her vet doctor and good friend, Lori, was extra special gentle.
So now, I want to give my Aunt Mary and Uncle Kev a big dog kiss for their broken hearts, and an extra special kiss for being so wonderful to their Echo.
That's all I want to write for now, because I just want everyone to remember my special cousin, Echo, for right now.
She was very, very special!

Caro, Caro....
Well, seems as if Mr. "C" is feeling a bit "comfortable" shall we say!
Maybe it's because I'm spoiling him rotten????
Seriously, when you spend well over a grand on toys and equipment
treats and "stuff"
this qualifies as "spoiling"...
Which could also be the reason we are now having some "puppy tantrums".
Yesterday and this morning have been interesting!
I think someone took my well behaved boy while I was not looking.
Actually, no complaints
He's just being a puppy.
And certainly knows that he is here to stay.
So some misbehaving is normal, and comical too...
So for now, we'll have to reinforce some good manners
and maybe,
just maybe,
taper off a wee-bit on the spoiling!
Maybe......

Caro learned how to dance yesterday!
We tell him to "dance" and he turns around in a circle 2 times.
I tell ya, 'da boyz got rhythm.
Hollywood here we come.
Caro is "diggin" his new updated web-site
( no pun intended).
No more annoying advertising on his web-page.
Caro is movin-on-up!
Actually mom decided to pay the premium package price...
And, VERY shortly...
Caro will be able to be reached at www.caro-dog.com
Yup, the "pup" is spoiled...
Hey, that's why mom works 60 hours a week!
Gotta keep the pup happy!
Now, you are probably thinking...
This crazy broad has so totally lost her mind!
To which I reply...
...Just remember who is sitting behind their computer RIGHT NOW and reading about a dog!
lol
Face it, we love our dogs!

January 8, 2006
Well, Caro has been a busy little pup!
He has learned everything so quickly!
He sits, stays, comes when called ( 75% of the time :0 )
gives paw, downs and is housebroken.
What more could you ask from someone who is only 14 weeks old?
He has a FAVORITE toy...
And I mean favorite!
It happens to be a duck!
One of those that the American Kennel Club makes.
The type you train a retriever with.
Caro loves "duckie" and he uses it as a pacifier
So, when baby gets tired, he curls up with "duckie" and sucks on it's back.
Pretty soon, he is fast asleep all curled up with "duckie".
It is very sweet!
I keep trying to get a picture of it however anytime I get close he wakes up.
We really love our new addition to the family.
He is a beautiful, funny and gentle little guy!

January 3, 2006
Happy New Year! Caro has been making steady progress. It's amazing just how smart he is and how fast he learns. We are working on a "clicker training" method with him and he LOVES it! It is too cute...he is always maintaining eye contact with you and you can tell he just wants to do a good job. He can sit, give paw, lay down, come, fetch and release all on command. And the coolest trick... he says MaMa... true! Clear as a bell! Now, does he mean MaMa...probably not :) but one can dream! Housebreaking...what housebreaking? He lets us know everytime he needs to go outside. NO ACCIDENTS! He is VERY gentle, not like most puppies. He knows in order for him to get pet, he must be sitting. For him to be fed, he needs to sit and wait for the command before he can eat. He is not a jumper at all. When he gives paw, it is VERY gentle. His favorite part of the day is just before bedtime we play "floppy puppy"...he gets to sit on mommy's lap ad I hold him like a baby. I know, I know...but it is too sweet! When he's on my lap, he flops his head backwards on my shoulder and gives kisses. He is going to be a WONDERFUL therapy dog, and I am so excited! Check back for more updates.

Well, Happy Almost New Year!
Caro says "WOOF" to all.
He is a GEM! I wish you could all meet him! Let me fill you in on his latest! Caro has learned to ride in the car wearing his special "puppy" seat belt. He gives paw very gently when asked. He loves to PLAY! His FAVORITE toy is a duck. He plays hide and seek...we hide a toy and he locates it. When he finds the toy, he gets a treat! Needless to say, he is quite the "scout". He is walking "the right way" on his leash...a true gentleman. He knows that whenever we stop walking he must sit. He has also learned that "WE" ( i.e. mom or dad) walks out the door "first". And he LOVES to come up to us and give kisses. He is the most gentle, smart and loving dog and we are so blessed to have him. Check back for more updates!

December 28, 2005
After quite a long car ride yesterday ( Caro's breeder lives in Pennsylvania!) Caro arrived at our home. We left very early in the morning to go and bring our new little bundle home. He is quite the gentleman in the car! Caro met his new brother and sister, Harley and Rosie, our chihuahua's. To say they are feeling "gyped-out" on their Christmas present from Santa is putting it mildly! Let's just say, it will take time! Caro is very smart. He is housebroken ( at 12 weeks old!) and already knows that he can only be pet when he is in a sitting position. He sits on command and also "shakes paws". Caro's first night went well. He slept in his pen until about 2:30 when "nature called"...mom immediately went out with the "little prince" and he did me proud! Of course, in true puppy form, he then wanted to play in the snow! Time matters not to puppies and everything is a toy or play time! I had to remind my little angel that mommy doesn't "enjoy" playing in the snow at 2:30 a.m. We came in and Caro decided to let mom sleep on the couch and he slept on the floor right next to mommy like a gentleman. To say we are blessed is putting it mildly! Caro is an amazing dog and he will be a wonderful therapy dog! Next week he starts "Puppy Class" followed by his "Good Citizenship Class and Certification" ...once that is complete, we start intensive Therapy Training and Search and Rescue Work. I'll keep you all updated! For the next year, Caro's dance card is looking pretty full!

Love,
CARO'S MOM,
Lauren
